I'm not a tax expert, and I can't see your return, so I can't say what has gone wrong. But I can request that someone call you and see if your return can be refile or adjusted to fix whatever went wrong.
Can you please provide more information about your problem? Are you using TurboTax CD/Download or TurboTax Online? Did you use Assist & Review?
Thank Susan. I have done my wife, son and mine Income Tax with Turbo Tax for years without any problem,
This year I did my son's first. I made sure to select Full time employee and I also selected the T4 slip'.
Further down in that page there was a question where I earned money as self employed I selected no.
on the T4 Employment Income on line 16 CPP Contributions I entered 3,754.45 dollars. When I reached
the Summary page I discovered that CPPcontribuition only showed $ 631.00 quite a difference it also showed
for self employed, which is also wrong. I called tel. no. 877 4404 288 . First I spoke to a lady who is suppose to be a Product Specialist. I had problem communicating with her and finally she transferred me to a Tax specialist another lady who could not understand that my son has been a permanent employee for 26 years and that the tho amounts were different and my son was going to lose on the tax rebate. She informed me
that the 631.00 figure is right because the government only accept a percentage of it I told her that the
two amounts were too far apart. She told me that the return was ready to file. I begged her to check thoroughly was she was adamant and said again, file your return.
The next day a called again and I do not know if I got the same lady, again i had trouble understanding
her. She told me that the return was right. By the way the first lady enter my return to tell me what information
to select. I told her to checked the page "what happened for you in 2023" and would see that I selected
yes to the question "did you work in 2023"an also selected I was employed (including commissions from employment) I asked how can then be a mistake as you said that I showed self employ. She told me that
the return was ready to file. Believe it or not.. Stupidly I file.
The next day I phone again and this time I spoke to a nice gentleman with and understandable voice. He checked the returned and told me that I was right that the problem is the program that they discovered a
glitch in it and they were working on it. So can you repair my return. He said it was too late that CRA has the return. I told him that you can repair your return a CRA. He said no you cannot. I asked him if they were
working on the glitch that day. He said yes. I asked him if he could let me know when the glitch was fixed
he said "Of course" I mentioned to him that I have 2 more return to process plus I help some friends and
neighbors an if the glitz is not fixed I would have to buy another program and never return to Turbo Tax.
I also told him that the difference in the tax return will be large and he should talk to his manager about
paying for their mistake and a half of the lost tax rebate. I have not heard anything.
I apologize for the long message but it my be the only way you can understand my situation. I will have to
give my son the amount that he would lose and I am an 85 year retiree. Thank you so much.
