Code 95365

I spoke with Turbotax about this yesterday (Apr 1).  Anyone with capital gains in boxes 21 and 53 won't be able to netfile. They said they're working on it and would call me when it's fixed. They estimated it would be a week or so.

Follow up: Turbotax said there is no workaround. I deleted the figures in boxes 21 and 53, and netfiled. I'll refile with those boxes completed when Turbotax advises the error has been fixed.

Answer

This is a rounding issue. You encounter this error because capital gains are reported on T3 information slips and one of the following situations applies to your client's return:

  • Line 17600 on the Schedule 3 is greater than line 68140 on Form T936.
  • There is an entry on line 68140 on form T936 but no entry on line 17600 on Schedule 3..
  • Line 68150 is greater than line 68140 on Form T936
  • There is an entry on line 68140 but no entry on line 68150 on Form T936

CRA rounds up the cents and gets an error message indicating that the information doesn't match.

To solve this problem :

  • Open Form T936 and remove the cents from line 68140 by override. For example, enter $1,890.00 instead of $1890.50 and retransmit the tax return.
  • CRA EFILE Error 95365 can occur when slips are shared equally with a spouse, but the amount shared is not equal. To avoid this issue, you can subtract or add one cent to the slip amount so that it is equal after splitting.
  • Other situations arise when the amount shown on the slip is less than one dollar. If the amount is large enough to be rounded up to $1, enter $1. Otherwise, you can delete the cents altogether, as according to CRA regulations, nothing less than one dollar can be transmitted by EFILE, or less than two dollars when the amount on the slip is less than one dollar.

For example, 0.07 /2 = 0.04 for one spouse and 0.03 for the other, and the two amounts don't match. You need to increase one of the spouses by 0.01 for the amounts to match: 0.04 for each.

Code 95365

I am having the same issue with the error code 95365 from CRA, do you know if it is fixed yet or are turbo tax is still working on it

Code 95365

Any update?  Doesn’t seem to be fixed for me.

Code 95365

I have a very large refund for a client.  This 95365 is ridiculous.  I kept trying to fix it and now I'm locked out with CRA for this client.  Ridiculous that after all this time there has not been a fix.  The problem is obvious and should be easily fixed.  Let me know when it is please.

I keep getting the code 95365 when trying to file as others have as well.  When will  this be fixed?
