Self Employment Income

I am retired, and receiving an employment pension, CPP and OAS. Last year, I did a bit of consulting for my old employer, and charged them $1000. I don't have a business, I had no business expenses, I invoiced them directly as an independent contractor and was paid by cheque, with no deductions taken off. Where am I supposed to enter this income? I looked at Professional Income Boxes 13699 and 13700 on line 23 of the T1 General, which leads me into a T2125 P1 and a whole mess of questions for what I thought should be a simple declaration! Any help would be appreciated...

You can report the income as "Other Employment Income". In TurboTax Desktop Forms mode, use the EMPL worksheet.

Self Employment Income

Its not self employment, so my T4 is from my previous employer full time role and then T4E from EI and then i did 4 week work for company without any contract so its kind of other income but on Turbo tax online where should i add other income?

Self Employment Income

@QS0

If the income is more than $3,500, you need to pay CPP contributions on that income, so you must enter it as self-employment income.

If the income is less than $3,500, you can enter it as other employment income.

If you are using TurboTax Online, search for “Tips” on the Tax Home page, and enter your amount on the top line.

If you are using TurboTax Desktop in EasyStep mode, use the Find tool to search for “Tips”, and enter your amount on the line for Occasional Earnings.

If you are using TurboTax Desktop in Forms mode, look for the EMPL worksheet, and enter your amount on the line for Occasional Earnings.
