I have TT Desktop Premier and have over 340 T5008 individual entries.
After uploading the data from the CRA, I entered in "Forms" view , under the T-Slips Entry box all the T5008 actual disposition dates and tagged the entries as capital gains. I reconciled the amounts that are on Schedule 3 and T936 to my T5008s and T3s show up correctly and in the right periods.
However.... when I do the review, I get (and keep getting) this error:
"Number of errors: 1"
"To accurately calculate your capital gains, you need to enter a date of disposition in 2024 on your T5008 slip(s)."
I visually checked and double-checked the dates and time of can't seem to get pass this error.
A) Any ideas why this is happening?
B) Couldn't TT point me to which of the individual T5008 entry is incorrect?
I figured it out....
Instead of entering the actual disposition dates for each entry, I entered 01/01/2024 for each entry.
Bingo, validation error gone and Netfile completed successfully.
While I was able to get around the problem, this problem should have never happened if the underlying coding had been done correctly by TT.
Not impressed.

For those finalizing 2025 tax year submissions, this error has still not been addressed by TurboTax so the only way to resolve the error for TY 2025, is to use 01/01/2025; using the actual disposition date will prevent you from Netfiling your return
Thanks for pointing that out, you have saved me and countless others a lot of time and frustration.
I have yet to submit my return (waiting for some T3s) and would have encountered the same problem again.
The solution was actually yours, Paul, from last year so all credit is due to you! Why TT cannot simply fix the issue is beyond me, howeverā¦
Thank you for the update. We will notify the team members who are working on it, and once we have an update, we will post it in the thread. We appreciate your time and feedback.
