self employed return cost

I have selected the self employed return which costs $49.99. My spouse retun is also being charged $49.99 but it is a simple return that would cost $0 if filed separately. Should I file separately to save $50 or is there a way this can be adjusted to the correct amount for the second return?

If you prepare your returns together, then you are both using the same version of TurboTax, and so will both be charged the same price.

If you want to use different versions, then you would have to prepare your returns separately.
