Hello. My spouse and I separated in November and while going through the steps to file my return it is asking for his 2023 tax return information. He has not yet filed his taxes so I don't know those details so what do I enter there? I don't want to have to wait for him to file his return. Thanks.
If you separated or divorced in 2023, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) will still require your ex-spouse’s/ ex-partner’s information. The info is needed for a number of reasons, like eligibility for certain credits or deductions, handling property you still own together, etc…
You can enter an estimate to continue your return and then put in the correct amount when you have it.
