I got a retro payment for cpp disability in 2025. It includes 3 months of income from 2024. I was told to use form t1198 to make the adjustments to show how much in 2025 vs 2024. Turbo tax gives me an error message: “line 68519 can’t be greater than line 68518. Additionally line 68519 can’t be greater than the sum of lines 10100,10400,12799,12800 and 13000 on your T 1 general. The problem is 68518 and 68519 are the same as I wasn’t paid any interest so it is correct they are the same number. Second issue is those other lines listed are employment income and support income lines which do not include the cppd income. I’ve spent hours on this today and am extremely frustrated with turbo tax. Any idea how to fix this? I tried to leave the error but it won’t let me netfile it. Help!
Did you already enter the T4 or T4A for the payment that was received?
Line 68518 The total amount (principal and interest) must be the same amount as Line 68519 - Total principal (current and prior years) PLUS Total interest (current and prior years).
Also, Line 68519—Total principal (current and prior years)—must be the same as the total amount of total of boxes 68520 through 68560 added together.
You can see lines 10100, 10400, 12799, 12800, and 13000 on your detailed tax summary.
Yes I entered my t4A. The problem is turbo tax doesn’t pick up the line that included cpp disability. They are assuming lump sums are from employment income. This needs to be fixed by turbo tax. I can’t file my taxes online because of this. Lines 68518 and 68519 are the exact same numbers as NO interest was paid. Please address this asap. There was another post from someone with the same problem stating it doesn’t pick up the lines for pension incomes. They as well
as I have spent hours looking for a fix
My cpp d is on line 11400 and turbo tax doesn’t pick this line up from the t1 general page
@Jeffddddd We suggest you contact our phone support. They have access to tools we don't have here in the community, like screenshare, and can investigate this issue for you.
I didn’t bother as another user has the exact same issue and it didn’t get resolved. Turbotax needs to fix the issue by picking up pension income lines from the t1 general. Not something I can fix without a programming change by turbo tax
@Jeffddddd Have you contacted phone support for assistance with the issue? They can put this through an investigation if it's not resolved.
