T5008

Do I receive T5008 slip if I bought ETF

and didn't sold it?

Do I have to report the T5008 slip in this case?

T5008

We appreciate you choosing TurboTax,

Yes, you will receive T5008 slip .

It is possible that the T5008 and T5 you were issued relate to the same investments, but both must be entered as separate slips. The T5008 relates to the disposition of securities in this investment, and the T5 relates to interest, dividends, and other "investment income" earned on this investment.

You must enter a number in Box 20 of the T5008 slip. Box 21 shows the Cost of the Fund or Adjusted Cost Base (ACB), and if you do not enter it, you will have to pay Capital Gains on the entire amount shown.

You can enter a T5008 Summary (no box numbers) by going to Income > Investments > Capital Gains & Capital Gains Deduction Profile. Check off the box "Sold stocks, bonds, real estate, etc." and proceed to the Capital Gains page to complete your entries.
