Hi, 

I was a student from May2021- Aug 2022 in Canada. I want to file my 2021 taxes. I did not have any income as I was a full time student. Can I file for my 2021 tax return from now? What are the requirements to file for my tax return

Yes, you can file your 2021 tax return. You will need to know what your status in Canada is before you start your return. If you aren't sure of your Canadian status please contact the CRA so that they can advise you at 1-800-959-8281. You will also need your T2022 from the school.

I am a full-time student with no part-time job and I live with my siblings in an apartment, do I need to pay rent to be eligible to file my 2021 taxes?
