I am trying to open a not yet filed return in Turbotax Premier 2017. When the program opens it goes automatically to check for updates and freezes. I have tried opening the program offline and it still goes into the update routine and freezes. If I uninstall my 2017 version of Turbotax and reinstall will I loose work in progress or returns which have been filed and now historical records?
When you uninstall TurboTax CD/Download, it doesn't delete any of you tax files. If you want to be on the safe side, you can always back up the files before uninstalling.
