Updating turbotax 2012

I need to look at an old return 2012.  In order to see the return I have reinstalled 2012 turbotax. The return will not open until I update the software, however, the software will not update. Is Turbotax still providing updates for years prior to 2016?

No. As of December 2024, we no longer support versions of TurboTax Desktop prior to 2018. We are no longer providing updates for those years, and they might not work on newer versions of Windows. Also, the authentication services are no longer available for those years, so even if you can get the software to install, the installation code would not work.

If you need information from an older return, you can get it through the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)'s My Account service, or call them 1-800-959-8281 to request the info.
