What is the purpose of Statement of Investment Income sub-section of the Capital gains profile?
I have already entered/imported my T3 and T5 forms and so I would expect that the Statement of Investment Income would already have prefilled entries for say "Actual amount for eligible dividends ..." but instead is shows 0.00.
If I have already entered my T3s/T5s, I would have expected that amount from those forms would be reflected in the Statement of Investment Income sub-section, but it's not.
If I manually add up the amount for eligible dividends from T3/T5 and manually enter to "Actual amount for eligible dividends ...", this increases the amount of tax owning.
Please clarify.
Can you clarify what form or page you are looking at? The T5 *is* the Statement of Investment Income, and amounts would be 0 if you haven't entered anything or imported anything.
Also, the T5 & T3 slips can have more than just dividends on it. If you imported slips from the CRA they might be for something other than dividend interest. T5 are often for bank interest.

I was referring to the form shown below. As I've suggested in my original post, I had created T3 entries, two in particular, both with "Actual amount of eligible dividends" field greater that 0, and both showing in "T3 - Summary" section.
Yet the form below shows 0.00 for the "Actual amount of eligible dividends".
