Why are my medical expenses, totaling over $4000 not showing up as a deduction. Is this a Turbo Tax trick to buy a bigger package?

You don't mention if you have the desktop or online version or what version you are using.  Are you filing a single form or are you also filing for a spouse?  Your medical expenses should show in full, but you can only claim a portion of that as a deduction. If you are filing with a spouse, it may be on the other return instead of yours.
