The way the CRA works it, is that they will not remove or add any amounts from one spouse to another. When doing a joint return it is still considered 2 individual returns, since they have to be filed separately. You will need to pay what you owe, and your spouse will get the refund. Therefore as a couple once the amount has been paid, the difference is the amount on the top left "Tax Refund" that you see on TurboTax.
