Why does my refund get reduced when I enter in a T2202A?

I’m sorry you are having this problem. The WITB is a refundable tax credit meant to provide tax relief for low-income individuals and families already in the workforce, and to encourage other Canadians to enter the workforce. If you tell TurboTax you had a low income, it will automatically claim it for you. However, if you then tell the program you were a student, you are ineligible for the WITB, so the credit is removed.
