Hello, we both work from home and have our designated work spaces. We are both employed by a company (not self-employed or earning commission). I am using turbo tax online. I added all my shared expenses (internet, hydro, etc) as well as my expenses solely for my office. Because we both work from home full time and each have designated closed spaces, can i also add the shared expenses (hydro, internet, electricity, etc) under my partner's profile as well? How do i make sure the software takes into account the 2 designate spaces in the house?
If you are each claiming a different room or space, the software should be taking into account each of your own percentages applied for. To verify, you can enter the expense claim one at the time and see the difference it makes. When you apply the second spouse, you should see around the same amount appear in your refund/balance amount.
