When I come back to my PTP I see that "I was self-employed" has been checked, but I didn't do it. Why does the system changes this? The person with business income is my wife and her PTP is checked with "I was self-employed."

Do you have a T4A slip with an amount in Box 20 or 48. If so this will transfer to a Statement of Self-employment. If you do not have any reason for using the self-employment schedule simply ignore the set up for one and just include this under your wife's tax return.
