Are you transferring the disability tax credit (DTC) from a dependant or your spouse? Also were you already being refunded all the tax you have had withheld "before" entering the DTC?

Often times the Disability Tax Credit (DTC) and other credits will make no difference on your tax refund because they are Non-Refundable Tax Credits. Because these credits are non-refundable, you don't receive a tax refund if they total an amount larger than the taxes you owe.

You also won't receive a refund if you haven't had any tax withheld from your income sources, as you can't be refunded taxes you have not paid.
