I cannot tell if my return was filed ?

i did not receive a confirmation from CRA,  I asked 5 days ago how to tell if my e-file went through, I cannot follow the instructions on this system it states in the upper right area of turbo tax select "find" I CANNOT FIND find? So I redid my taxes using same system when I went to e-file it said that I was already filed.For something so easy to do its really hard to check weather or not you e-filed correctly, it was my 1st time using this system, I just want a confirmation number that the government has my file. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will receive a NETFILE confirmation number when your income tax return was successfully transmitted to the Canada Revenue Agency.  Please see the following FAQ's on how to NETFILE.

When CRA’S NETFILE service is open, you can submit your completed tax return to the CRA.


Before you begin, complete the Review step

If you haven’t completed the Review section of your return, complete that first.

  1. In the upper-right area of TurboTax, select Find.
  2. In the Find field, type “Return summary,” select it and then select Go.
  3. Follow the instructions to complete your review, which is complete when you land on the Let’s file your return step.

 

Before you begin, complete the payment/confirmation step

If you haven’t paid for your return (or confirmed your order, if you’re using TurboTax Free), complete that first. Here’s how:

  1. In the upper-right area of TurboTax, select Find.
  2. In the Find field, type “NETFILE.”
  3. From the list of results, select NETFILE your tax return and then select Go.
  4. On the Just a few steps left and we’ll file your return step, select the Start button next to Review your order (or Review and Confirm, for TurboTax Free).
  5. Follow the instructions to complete payment/confirmation, which is complete when TurboTax brings you back to the Just a few steps left and we’ll file your return step.

Note: Paying for your return does not file your return to the CRA.

 

How to submit your tax return using NETFILE

1. In the upper-right area of TurboTax, select Find.

2. In the Find field, type “NETFILE.”

3. From the list of results, select NETFILE your tax return and then select Go.

4. If you see the Do you want to register for CRA’s online mail? step, select the option you prefer and then select Continue.

5. On the Filing your return(s) step, select the NETFILE CRA button.

  • If you’ve prepared a return for your spouse/partner together with yours, your returns must be filed one at a time. You’ll need to select the NETFILE CRA button for each of your returns. TurboTax will bring you back to this step to file the second return once the first return has been filed.

6. On the NETFILE your Return to the CRA step, select Agree and NETFILE. TurboTax then transmits your return to the CRA for you.

7. On the pop-up Congratulations! step, select Continue.

A NETFILE confirmation number appears on The CRA received your NETFILE return step to confirm your return has been successfully received by the CRA.

 

Important: If your return is not accepted by the CRA when you attempt to file, TurboTax will display an error message and/or an error code explaining why your return was not accepted. Depending on the error you receive, you may be able to resolve the error and try to submit to NETFILE again. Until you get a CRA confirmation number, you have not successfully filed.

If you are eligible to use CRA’s NETFILE service, be sure to continue following the steps in TurboTax until you get a NETFILE confirmation number; it’s your guarantee that your return was received. Save this number for your records.

How to submit your tax return using NETFILE

Note: If you’re in Forms mode, switch to Easy Step mode by selecting Easy Step from the upper-left area of TurboTax.

1. In the upper-right area of TurboTax, select Find.

2. In the Find window, type “NETFILE.”

3. From the result area, select NETFILE or print, and then select Go.

4. On the you are ready to file step, locate the return you want to file and then select Start.

  • If you’ve prepared a return for your spouse/partner together with yours, each return will need to be filed separately. Locate and select Start for the return you’d like to file first. After a return is submitted, TurboTax will bring you back to this step so you can file the second return.
  • If you live in Québec, you can electronically file both your federal (CRA) and Québec (RQ) returns. To file only one at this time, locate the return (Federal return or Québec return) you want to file and select Start.

5. On the Prepare to File Your Federal Return step, select I want to submit my return to CRA’S NETFILE service and then select Continue. (If you owe money, follow the instructions regarding your tax balance owing, and TurboTax will bring you to the next step.)

6. On the Do you want to register for CRA’s online mail? step, select the option you prefer and then select Continue.

7. On the Get your refund fast with direct deposit step, select the option you prefer and then select Continue.

8. On the NETFILE your Return to the CRA step, read the NETFILE Terms and Conditions and Privacy Notice.

9. If you agree to the terms and conditions, select Agree & NETFILE My Return.

10. On the Certify Personal Info before filing with the CRA step, select Continue. TurboTax then submits your return to the CRA.

11. On the Great news! step, locate the CRA NetFile confirmation number. If your return was successfully received by the CRA, TurboTax will display a confirmation number. Until you get a CRA confirmation number, you have not successfully filed.

Note: If you prepared a return for your spouse/partner with yours, follow the instructions and TurboTax will bring you back to the you are ready to file step. Repeat steps 4 to 11 to file your spouse/partner’s return.

 

Important: If your return is not accepted by the CRA when you attempt to file, TurboTax will display an error message and/or an error code explaining why your return was not accepted. Depending on the error you receive, you may be able to resolve the error and try to submit to NETFILE again.
