How does account verification work?
by TurboTax•1• Updated 10 months ago
Account verification is one of the ways we safeguard personal information so that you can file your taxes confidently.
- The information you provide is used only to verify your identity.
- TurboTax doesn't share, sell, or use personal info for any other purpose without your consent.
When you sign in to your TurboTax account, a number of security measures are activated to safeguard your information:
- You may be asked to verify your account if you’re using a new computer or device.
- You may be asked to verify your account if you haven’t signed in for several weeks.
- You may be asked questions that only you should have the answers to.
- You may also validate your identity by requesting a confirmation code.
