I have one child in daycare in 2022 at $16,830 for the year. I had another child not in daycare in 2022. Do I only insert $8k for my child care costs?

When I insert the amount that directly matches the receipt from my daycare ($16,830) Turbotax is claiming $16k for the two children.  But I believe I can only claim $8k for the one child that was actually in daycare correct?

You are correct that the software is assuming you are claiming for both children and entering $16000. In this case it would be best to enter $8000 and $0 for the other and make sure that you keep your receipt should the Canada Revenue Agency should request it in the future.

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
