I have cancelled checks for charitable donations but no official tax receipts can claim these moneys?
No. You need official tax receipts to claim the Charitable Donations otherwise if the return is post assessed or audited by CRA (the chance is1 in 3 returns randomly), you will be asked to return the money refunded to you based on the charitable donation claimed.
