I want to file for 2 individual people but i'm not ready to file the 1st one. can I start with the second one or do I have to complete with the first person?

You can start a new return and just go back to the first one whenever you are ready to complete it.

To start a new return --> click on Tools --> Return Manager --> go to the bottom of the page --> click Continue to the right of Start a new 2017 return
