If I did not use the expert assist and review, why is it being charged

When you start a new return, the carryforward information will not be lost. You will again be able to bring forward last year's information.

Can confirm this is a deceptive tactic on their part. I filed my 2024 taxes last week, and I've used the SAME approach every year - except this year I'm charged 128$ for AI Assistance when I opted OUT of LIVE ASSISTANCE. I did not NEED it, I did not WANT IT, and somehow I still ended up with it. 

 

Tried to request refund IMMEDIATELY, and the link an agent sent was a dead end. The form did not submit the request and I had to call 3 days later to do it over the phone, just to be DENIED because "you used the product" which I did NOT. 

 

This is incredibly frustrating and their customer service left a lot to be desired. Unhelpful! Will seek other companies in the future.
