Installing Turbotax Download-CefSharpe.BrowserSubProcess

Hello,

While installing Turbotax, a message pops up saying "Windows Defender Firewall has blocked some features of this app.  Name:  CefSharpe.BrowserSubProcess".

Is this required to use Turbotax 2024?  Is it safe or okay to choose "Allow CefSharpe.BrowerSubProcess to communicate on private networks, such as my home or work network"?

If this is not recommended, how can we uninstall or delete the CefSharpe.BrowerSubProcess?

Thank you.

The CefSharpe.BrowserSubProcess is part of a system that TurboTax (and other applications) use to allow the software to connect to the internet. You should allow it, as TurboTax needs to connect to the internet to activate, download updates, NETFILE and for other features.

Installing Turbotax Download-CefSharpe.BrowserSubProcess

Thank you, TurboTaxSusan.

Has CefSharpe.BrowserSubProcess always been used by TurboTax?  I have used TurboTax for many years, and this is the first time the question came up while downloading the tax software.  The only difference I can think of is that in prior years, I bought the CD or digital download software from a store, while this time, I bought it directly from Intuit.ca.  I never came across the CefSharpe.BrowserSubProcess question until this year, in all my years downloading the Turbotax software purchased from stores.

Can you also confirm if each purchase of Turbotax software allows me to download it in 3 computers?  For example, if I buy a new laptop, can I download Turbotax 2024 on my new laptop using the same license code, if I have only downloaded it once before (on my old current desktop)?  Thank you again.
