Make sure your Windows OS is up to date. For installation issues, make sure you are following these points:
You have the administrator rights on the profile you are installing TurboTax on.
You are not trying to install on a cloud.
Turn off your antivirus software and Windows Defender before installation & be sure to turn it back on after.

I find it takes quite a while to actual open the software after it checks for updates. It may be that you are not giving it enough time to get open.
