Open TurboTax
Does Turbotax auto fill my T4, T5, T3, that are issued by my Canadian Bank?
Do I get a list of these receipts so that I can check nothing has been missed?
Yes, TurboTax can absolutely do this using a feature called Auto-fill My Return (AFR).
Yes. When you use the "CRA Import" (Auto-fill) feature, TurboTax securely connects to your CRA My Account. It pulls any slip that your bank, employer, or investment firm has already uploaded to the CRA. This includes:
T4: Employment income.
T5: Interest and investment income.
T3: Income from trust units or mutual funds (Note: These are often issued later, sometimes by the end of March).
RRSP Receipts: Your contribution slips.
Before the data is imported, TurboTax will show you a list of every slip it found at the CRA. You can compare this list against the physical or digital slips you received from your bank.
We strongly suggest reviewing your return before filing to ensure nothing has been missed.
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
Hello,
1. Can I still manually enter non bank receipts such as donations, medical expenses etc?
2. What line do I enter USA Social Security Benefits?
3. Do I enter this amount in Canadian dollars?
@user17715264903 Yes, you manually enter anything that isn't brought in using Auto-Fill. You can also manually add T-slips that you get after you Auto-Fill, if you don't want to run Auto-Fill again.
You would use the Foreign Slip to enter USA Social Security Benefits, and yes, you would enter the amounts in Canadian dollars.

Why is this feature greyed out in the dropdown menu for me when I'm trying to fill out my 2025 return with Premier Desktop edition? I have MyCRA. Thanks
If you are using EasyStep Mode, select Income & Expenses > Auto-fill my return from the left side menu. The option under File in the grey menu is only available in Forms mode, but they both go to the same page.

Thanks. I’m new to TurboTax but maybe I haven’t entered enough info yet to “ungrey” the autofill option - as it won’t let me click on Income and Expenses yet either. Does that sound right?
Yes, you'll need to finish the introduction & profile sections before you can start entering income, expenses or anything else on the return.
