I co-signed a mortgage, with my daughter's husband, to help them buy their first home. Only her husband and I are on title. Is this a blind trust,Do I file the UHT form?

We are all born in Canada.  UHT indicates if we fall into the 'partner in a partnership' or 'trustee' trap, we’d be exempt from the tax but still face a definite $5000 penalty if we don’t file the form, or file after April 30.

You should contact the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and ask them.

If you are in Canada or the United States, you can call the CRA at 1-800-959-8281. If you are elsewhere, you can call 613-940-8495. This page has more ways to contact the CRA: Contact the Canada Revenue Agency
