Which product to choose if only the Spouse is self employed?

Hi,

I have employment income (only T4) but am not self employed. Spouse is only self employed but no employment income (No T4). Snce we are filing jointly, Do I have to choose TT Self-employed product and pay the cost of 44.99 for each return even though one of them does not have self employment income? We do have one rental property owned jointly.

Currently TT is charging us for the self employment product for both spouses. Is there a product that lets us file self employment for one and regular Personal Tax product for the other?

Thank you.

Because you own rental property jointly, the Self-Employed software is the best software to use as you also are considered to have self-employment income.

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

If you want to use TurboTax Online, you will have to use Self-Employed if you or your spouse are reporting Self-Employment income. If you are preparing your return together with your spouse, then you will be using the same version of TurboTax and both returns will be charged the same price.

If you want to use TurboTax CD/Download (for Windows), for Self-Employment income, we would recommend Home & Business, but all versions of TurboTax CD/Download have the ability to enter Self-Employment income.
