bug with political contributions not being recorded?

I have $100 of contribution on line 40900 and when I click through it calculates a $75 credit for line 41000, but when i go to the T1 line 41000 (142) it shows 0.00. Why is this?

@questionsforever  The due date is April 30th 2025, but you can't send your return before Netfile system is ready to receive your 2024 tax return, end of February 2025. You also have to make sure all T-Slips and receipts are in your hands.

At this time, some CRA forms are still being reviewed by them for the 2024 tax season. As soon as they are ready, TurboTax will be updated.

Thank you fir choosing TurboTax.

bug with political contributions not being recorded?

The issue with political donations not calculating correctly is not fixed.  I have entered my political donation of $500 and received my appropriate credit of $350 on the T1 Worksheet and the T1 General on line 41000.  My spouse also contributed $500 and the T1 Worksheet displays the appropriate credit of $350 but does not transfer it to her T1 on line 41000.

According to legal interpretation here Making the most of political donations | Segal GCSE LLP both individuals are eligible to claim the credit for political contributions.

@sam_2024 From the link that you provided: "The credit only applies to reduce federal tax payable, and there is no carry‑over for excess contributions made in a year." So, if your wife doesn't have any tax payable, she won't get the any of the credit.

even worse i entered everything properly and my NOA says "We found a calculation error in your federal political contribution tax credit, so we changed your credit to $0.00." and yet on line 40900 and line 41000 in turbotax it shows my federal party contribution. what the heck did turobtax do when netfiling? what error could this be?

If the CRA made an adjustment on your Notice of Assessment to $0.00, could it be because there was no advantage in claiming this contribution on your tax return? Did you have income taxes to pay, or were you receiving a refund? There have not been any errors reported concerning political contributions on our end. We invite you to verify with CRA to get more details.
