It's April 13, 2024 and I'm still having getting error code 95365. The fix on of April 7 did not work for me. The recommended workaround did not solve the problem either. I tried rounding to the nearest dollar as well. CRA did not accept my return. Will there be more changes for error code 95365?
Turbotax: I want a refund. Your website makes the claim that you are "CRA Netfile Certified". How can this be when nobody with capital gains and this error code is able to Netfile with CRA. This problem, which has persisted for weeks and perhaps months, should have been disclosed on your product information pages PRIOR to purchase.
Turbotax has tried to place the accountability with CRA, but what other tax prep software has this issue?
How do I get my refund?
I believe there are a large group who share this sentiment. It is not up to us to be rounding off numbers and trying to fake the system to get it to work. We bought Turbotax in good faith and its up to Turbotax to provide us a working solution. Today is supposed to be the day for a fix. Stay tuned.
The release notes from the April 14th fix are below. Apparently, validations were added and bugs were fixed. Can the moderators please provide more details about those validations and bug fixes? It's kind of vague.
Todays TurboTax update has NOT RESOLVED the issue of the capital gain from a T3 showing up on Line 68140 on Form T936. Has anyone had any success net filing when they have a capital loss from a T5008 and a capital gain on a T3. Line 68140 on Form T936 is still zero. What do we need to do to get a reply from TurboTax?
According to the CRA last week TurboTax has had the update and yet I am still having the same issue as well. I was told also last week it would be fixed latest today. Let's see.
If not I will call the CRA again and complain and will not use TurboTax again.
Can we get an update on this. Its been 3 weeks.
thank you.
This is not a TurboTax issue.
The CRA has confirmed that this issue is affecting all CRA certified tax software. TurboTax is in direct contact with senior Government of Canada officials at CRA, underscoring the urgent need for accountability and decisive action to resolve these issues for our customers and all Canadians. To support taxpayers in navigating these CRA errors, the TurboTax Canada blog is being regularly updated with the latest information on NETFILE error codes, CRA-approved workarounds, and expected resolution dates.

Thank you for your patience and choosing TurboTax.
The workarounds that have been suggested for Error 95365 DO NOT WORK for many of us. I have rounded and made Box 52 go away by putting the whole amount into Box 53, and manipulated numbers (which we shouldn't have to do in the first place!). IT DOES NOT WORK.
I had a discussion with a very pleasant, understanding and sympathetic product specialist today (again!!!). Once again I will say - I have a capital loss on a T5008, and a capital gain on a T3. The amount from Box 21 on the T3 (rounded or not!!) transfers to Line 17600 on the Schedule 3. This same number should transfer to Box 68140 on Form T936. But Box 68140 continues to be zero. IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE! Any decent programmer should be able to fix this easily.
I do not believe this is a CRA issue and in fact was told by a product specialist at TurboTax it is a TurboTax "product defect".
TurboTax has gone very quiet in this discussion - the "fix" of April 14 obviously did not work. Why do they continue to blame CRA and offer "filing relief". I want to file NOW and get my huge refund without waiting an other 8 weeks.
Can someone/anyone update us to let us know when this will be resolved once and for all?!
@TurboTaxVeronique I'm totally inline with @mdefoe . How come Turbo Tax reps only reply with standard message, but no one really address and answer our specific questions that multiple of us think this is a Turbo Tax system issue:
I have a capital loss on a T5008, and a capital gain on a T3. The amount from Box 21 on the T3 (rounded or not!!) transfers to Line 17600 on the Schedule 3. This same number should transfer to Box 68140 on Form T936. But Box 68140 continues to be zero.
We're disappointed by how Turbo Tax handle this error code 95365 issue. Could anyone in TurboTax address this question?
I also read the CRA EFILE new and program updates website per below. It does not mention error code 95365 are in the scope of error code to be fixed.
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is aware of a system issue that is triggering incorrect error codes in EFILE and NETFILE certified software and is preventing some users from being able to submit returns.
Users are receiving one or more of the following error codes:
The CRA is actively working to resolve these issues as quickly as possible and will provide further information and resolution dates as they become available. The CRA is tracking cases affected by these errors, and in the event that an issue is not resolved before the April 30th filing deadline, the CRA intends to provide arrears interest and penalty relief proactively for impacted individuals who file late after having received an incorrect error code that could not be resolved when attempting to file on or before their tax filing deadline.
To be eligible for relief, an impacted filer must have attempted to submit the return electronically on or before April 30th, received the specific error code, and was unsuccessful in resolving the error code despite taking the appropriate corrective action.
