I have the same persistent issue with Capital Gains splitting not working from T3 boxes 52&53 adding myself into thread to get notified when the error is fixed.
Most unhappy about product shipping this buggy
Since the government has shelved the changes to the taxes on Capital Gains, boxes 52 & 53 are now irrelevant. I want to just leave boxes 52 & 53 blank & merely record the total in box 21. The problem is that Turbo Tax won't let me netfile this way, indicating that I must fix this error. What do you suggest we do? Should we just wait it out until Turbo Tax changes the software to reflect that boxes 52 & 53 are now irrelevant, or should we mail in our returns? Please reply.
copy the full amount from box 21 into box 53, enter zero for box 52. It worked for me!
make sure the same amount is in both boxes 53
So frustrating!
I only have 1 attempt at Netfiling before my account is locked. I'm reluctant to try again before I'm certain there's a fix on Turbo Tax.
Has anyone tried calling CRA?
We are aware of this issue, and our development team is working on a resolution. Currently we don't have any ETA. Once it is resolved, we will update you in this thread. We appreciate your patience.
How many trials do we have for NETFILE before CRA lock it?
@VISTEC And may I clarify what is the other box you refer to, boxes 53 and ? You mentioned "in both boxes 53". Thank you very much in advance.
Max of 5 Netfile trials then account is locked
I have the same error code 95365 but my problem is a bit different.
I entered my T3s as they are reported: split box 21 into boxes 52 and 53. But line 17600 only shows box 53's number. Line 68140 (which is my share of the total capital gain of all box 21 added up) is a number larger than line 17600. So when I read the conditions under this error code, I don't understand why it is relevant to me. I tried to submit via NETFILE two times with no success.
Then I read some suggestions here and combine boxes 52 and 53 all into box 53. But then line 68140 (which is a number same as the first two attempts) is less than line 17600, which hit one of the error code conditions and I still got this same error code 95365.
So now I have already tried 3 times and not dare try for more times, afraid of getting my NETFILE account locked. TurboTax please fix this issue with Turbo effort!! I and my husband both have a refund to receive. And I don't even dare to try to NETFILE for my husband unless this issue is solved!!!
I just waiting on the phone for 1 1/2 hours, no resolution.
I will have to look for another option for 2025!
@james_anstey I’m had a similar experience with the TurboTax phone support several days ago. The technician was utterly useless. She wasn’t even aware of the issue even though hundreds or even thousands of users have reported it by now. Even after we did a screen share and I throughly explained the issue to her and showed her all the screens and calculations, she still didn’t get it. Why are they even paying these people? They should hire back the quality people that they laid off from the Edmonton office recently. Sure, they get paid more but they also know what they are doing. Cheap is cheap.
