I use the import process to download the T-slips from the CRA web site. However, the process does not seem to allow me to exclude the T5008 slips from being imported (This information is being summarized by my financial planner so they are not required). Hitting the trashcan icon beside the import slips on the summary import screen removes the T5008 slips from showing in the summary import screen but they are still appearing in the T-slip list (Form input method).
Please go to the menu on the left side in your return and click on Income then T-Slips then scroll down to click on T5008 to edit the information included there from the Auto-fill. Make sure to click on Done With T5008 Slips to save your changes.
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
This is a bug. There is an option on the import screen to delete the T5008 from being imported. When you click the delete icon, the T5008 disappears from the import page. After that it still imports all the T5008 forms. Having the ability to manually delete 500 forms one-at-a-time after that doesn't negate the problem. They never should have been imported.
Please contact our phone support team at 1-888-829-8608 as they will be better able to investigate this for you.
Is there a way of excluding T5008's from the CRA download as I have too many for the software to handle
@jfostertm No, unfortunately there is no way to exclude a specific slip type from being imported during CRA Auto-Fill.
Would Turbotax advise if this probelm comes from the CRA or if next year's software can fix this? (It has been a problem for years)
Best solution is to key in the T slips manula and do not have CRA download
@Stonehill1273 This is an issue reported on CRA's end. Thank you for the feedback. We will pass this on to the assigned team
So am I understanding that there is absolutely no way to keep hundreds of T5008 slips from downloading or ability to delete them all quickly?? The program has a trash can next to the T5008 on the download function that doesn't work? I've started a second return and wasted hours. NOT good !
If I'm missing a solution somewhere, please let me know.
Unfortunately Intuit has not fixed this bug - you delete T5008 on the import page and it still imports them anyway. The options are to not import anything from CRA or to delete each T5008 individually. This year I upgraded to Premium hoping it wouldn't have this problem. After wasting my time deleting hundreds of T5008's again this year, I decided the best option is to not use TurboTax next year.
