I did that … not very useful !! All I got was a couple of links to documents but no way to actually submit a claim . Had to call in a second time and finally was directed to the physical address, buried way down in the Eula, where you have to mail your claim request with now way of contacting them to find out the status!
this is unacceptable customer service!!
Hello Rudi,
What do you mean by mailing your claim request? When I contacted them they said they were not responsible for how I entered the data and gave me links to the forms which were not helpful. I had used the standard package and did not pay for live assistance.
Thank you for your help.
Hi PaulaLynn;
When I called the support line after receiving to notice of reassessment for my daughter I was given the impression tht there was a know problem and hey provided me with a mailing address to submit a claim for the interest charges from CRA

I sent them copies of the assessments and screenshots of form ON479-A/ONCARE where I thought the error occurred.
I have heard nothing from them since they received the documents on Feb 6.
After looking into this more it appears there is a way to make the form work with the check boxes at the beginning but the program never takes you to that page .
In my mind there are a number of logic/programming errors
a) in my case the returns are coupled so the spousal info should automatically be fillied in ... it is not
b) when I entered the childcre expense info I did not enter it under the lower income spouse but the system did transfer it to the ON479-A form under the correct spouse so why can it do that but not also bring in the other spouses income
c) it processed the CARE benefit with none of the required boxes checked ... this should not happen ... if none of the boxes are checked there should be a warning or the return should have been processed as if there was no CARE benefit.
d) during the review process the where it highlights things like missing province on your T4 info etc it should also have pointed to the ON479-A form indicating that none of the boxes where checked.... it does not
Thanks Rudi. I had figured out about the check boxes afterwards too. You are right, there should have been a warning about it.
What version of the software did you use and did you pay for the live assistant? I used the standard desktop version and did not pay for the live assistant.
Thanks
I used the standard desktop version as well.
I did notice that the 2024 version now has an item in the warnings section about making sure all the correct boxes are checked if you are claiming the ON CARE benefit. This warning is definitely not in the previous years return software.
@Rudi A Correct, Thanks for the feedback.
