Many issues with initial release

Good catch, I can reproduce this rrsp bug also. It seems if you actually populate the field with an actual figure from schedule 7 and rrsp worksheet it uses that but if you leave it blank it uses the deduction limit.

@JAA7 At this time, some CRA forms are still being reviewed by them for the 2024 tax season, which could explain why some calculations are not done correctly or do not appear. As soon as they are ready, TurboTax will be updated accordingly.

Thanks for choosing TurboTax.

Thank you for your feedback. These "issues" with your software have major concerns to many of us in the tax business. Buying your software early helps provide TT with free "debugging" services by the users that paid for this software. This seems extremely unprofessional.

Many issues with initial release

Capital Gains does not calculate past the basic entry of information. It does not report as a gain or loss to calculate taxes owed. I spent almost a hour trying to figure out the problem and a fix. I had to override parts of Schedule 3 in an attempt to get a calculation. I gave up in frustration. The purpose of using tax software is to make preparing and filing easier. Shame on you Turbo Tax for making it more difficult and possibly result in an inaccurate filing. The purpose of an early calculation was to determine roughly what my tax burden will be this year with an eye to make a contribution to an RRSP. Turbo Tax was no help and an exercise in frustration.

@TZmann

As previously mentioned, our development team is aware of these issues and are working to resolve them as soon as possible. This includes working with the CRA, who are also dealing with recent changes to the inclusion rate for the capital gains tax.

Please note, NetFile will not be available until February 24, 2025. We invite you to continue reporting any errors you encounter to our Product support team, by phone.

Thank you for choosing TurboTax

I'm having issues as well - Sched 3 pre and post Jun 25 gains aren't picked up in the calc lower down.
