Many issues with initial release

@hqkhan As it was previously said by my colleagues, we are aware of the outstanding problems and our development team is working to resolve them as soon as possible. We have not been given a resolution date. Once we have any news, we will update this thread.

Some of the issues are related to forms still under review by CRA and as soon as we receive the finalized version of the forms, TurboTax will be updated.

We thank you for your patience.

Many issues with initial release

I have been using the online version for five tax seasons and have never encountered these issues before. This year, I still trusted it, and even after problems arose, I believed TurboTax would promptly fix this minor issue. However, the responses have been consistently deflecting responsibility to the CRA or the technical team, which is completely inconsistent with TurboTax's good reputation. I suspect this year's version was made by someone with no experience, completely unfamiliar with tax laws, and the interface is flashy and cumbersome, utterly useless.

Many issues with initial release

You are taking WAY TOO LONG to fix errors which should never have occurred in the first place.  That is the message from everyone in these postings and you are clearly missing the point.

You need new coders and some new managers given all of the errors that have been made to date, and for the lack of any sense of urgency whatsoever in fixing these critical errors.  I've used TurboTax for 30 years (starting with its predecessor in the mid 1990's) and this is hands down the most pathetic series of releases of the product.  This year has been a shameful emarrassment for the TurboTax brand.

@brnsdv We understand your frustration and that the wait for resolutions can sometimes seem long.

If you're experiencing issues with your software and feel you need a closer look, we invite you to contact our product support team by phone. They have access to tools we don't have here in Community, like screenshare, and see the issues to escalate into an investigation if needed.

We'll share your feedback with the proper TurboTax Team.

Yeah, I check every day and the clock is ticking. The programmer(s) don't seem to understand what Net Capital Loss Carry Forward  means. I could explain it to them, but why bother.

I have a drop dead date where I will be switching to their competitors software forever. Tick, tick, tick.

I don't need phone time with your support people.  I just need the software that I paid for to work as it always has for years.  As I said, this is by far the worst initial release and flawed subsequent releases of your software since its inception 30 years ago when I started purchasing it (as QuickTax in those days).  Some people need to look for a job they can actually do. Completely unacceptable.

Many issues with initial release

Aside from the ongoing issues with Capital Gains and Schedule 3 there are other small issues that have already been reported that should be SIMPLE fixes.  These issues are from the original release and are still there.  In the 'warnings' during the review it is still saying that the T4(OAS) amount claimed is higher than it is supposed to be.  NOT THE CASE!  Update the correct amount please.  In the 'tax savings' during the review it still doesn't mention the 2025 TFSA limit.  In the original release in December 2024, it actually said the TFSA limit for 2025 was $6,500.    Now it says the 2024 TFSA limit is $7,000 but DOES NOT mention the 2025 limit.  These issues should NEVER have happened right from the beginning and please don't say it has something to do with CRA forms.  This is basic cross your t's and dot your i's.

Agree.  Add to all of this the fact that they have disabled any Form printing, so how is a user supposed to be able to compare the values input and output on different Forms to either validate their entries or to compare various scenarios?  What an absolute mess they have created for their customers.

Why don't we see any reply from turbo tax on all these questions raised by customers. They must provide clear answers to these questions immediately. Net file time in just around the corner . Will we able to net file in tinw?
