Has anyone else had the problem that their marital status hasn't changed with CRA even though I changed it in the software? I'm using Turbo Tax Premier and changed my marital status from common law to single and it didn't make the change when netfiled to CRA.
You can’t change your marital status just by reporting in TurboTax. You need to contact the CRA to do this, preferably before you submit your return. This CRA page lists the ways that you can change your marital status with them: https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/news/newsroom/tax-tips/tax-filing-season-media-kit/tfsmk31.h...
I filed last year, 2018 with Turbo Tax and my marital status was entered as widowed but for 2019 was changed to single. My marital status has not changed. I received an Email from CRA but have not been able to change this error on-line. Would you please chane this for me or advise me what to do. Thanks
