2024 year-over-year comparison

@hee As my colleagues explained and showed on screenshot, this option is still available. If you transferred your 2023 info into your 2024 return, then the year over year comparison will be in the Review section after the page where you certify your information.

I have paid, uploaded previous year but still cannot find the year over year comparison in the Review section. Can someone tell me what I am missing

I agree completely that this 2024 edition has lost it's user friendliness and is a challenge when doing spousal returns especially. Right off the bat, I got an error message that said I will need to pay $72 to file.  Excuse me?? I just paid $39.99 for the Deluxe software at Staples (for up to 8 returns) so I am not paying you another cent. Secondly, I put in all my infor but it didn't even let me enter my spouse's slips.  It took me right to the end and then said I had errors.  Sure I have errors.  I haven't entered any of the slips yet!  It was very painful to do this year's taxes and I have been using this software for many years.  In previous years, the proces has been very linear, and organized with very helpful icons and colours used to display the info.   This 2024 edition, the way the information is displayed and when it is displayed is a guessing game to go back and find anything. In some screens there is no go back selection so I had to take a trip around the moon to find what I was looking for.  Horrible experience.  First time ever, I have filed and I don't feel confident that I got all the information in and this is a red flag. If next year's format doesn't change, I am not using this anymore. Not sure who signed off on this new version, but I bet he didn't even try it.

I am using the online 2024 version, However, I bought it from Costco Canada, where do I find the year over year comparison

This is very cumbersome. Every time I sign back in to look at and work on my returns, I have to go through the  review, certify/check you SIN for both me and my wife, and go through several ads for upgrade services before I can see the year over year comparison.

Used to be you could look at it at anytime from anywhere in the application.

As well, there is no current year (or last year) comparison between our two returns - I'm sure that was there in previous years.

On another note, every time I sign in, it seems to be a struggle to find what I need to check or enter.  This new format is not user friendly or intuitive at all.  That goes for pretty much the entire application, not just any specific area.  And I'm very comfortable with both taxes and technology - I used to do them easily on paper, have an advanced business degree, and I do business analysis for a software firm.  I can't imagine how  much of a struggle it must be for someone that is not comfortable with taxes or tech.

If it is the same next year, I will be looking for a new application/program.

Thanks for wording this so perfectly for so many people.  It is exactly the issues I found as well.  I have never been so frustrated or disappointed in using aoftware.  This year it was very painful and still I am not confident I got all the fields.  On my spouse's return, it skipped a whole bunch of screens and took me right to the review. The review said I had all these errors, naturally because it didn't give me opportunity to fill in the fields.  I was going round and round in circles trying to find information.  If they don't clearly advertise that they have gone back to the previous format, I am NOT buying this again.

@monabichai The Year Over Year Comparison can be found in TurboTax Online by going to "Tax Home" on the left-hand side menu and selecting Review and then Year-Over-Year Comparison. The year-over-year comparison only shows the current tax year and the previous tax year.

Also be aware that the year-over-year comparison is only available if you transferred your previous year's return into your current year's return.
