I entered CPP amount on T4 Box 16,
but T1 shows Line 30800 = $0 and
Line 44800 = CPP amount as I entered T4 Box 16.
Can I fix it manually, and mail it to CRA? or wait until software update.
This seems like the same issue I am struggling with. I am holding out for an update otherwise you cannot NETFILE if you manually override it.
I am surprised there are not a lot of other people complaining of the same thing. There must be some corner condition that is triggering this for a select few?
If this is not resolved soon I will have to use UFile instead!
I already filed using Netfile on last Friday, and I realize yesterday that was wrong.
I'm thinking manually over ride 30800 and 44800 and mail it.
Any solutions yet?
If you are using TurboTax Desktop, updates were available this morning. Please make sure to update your software. The CPP/QPP overpayment issue should be fixed.
If you are still experiencing the issue, make sure you have pensionable earnings (box 26) on your T4.
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
I have my pensionable earnings same as employment income but I am still getting the overpayment. How do I take this out?
I have everything correctly recorded. AB for box 10. Pensionable earnings same as employment income, etc. It's still recording overpayment and I don't know how to take this out.
I am using turbo tax online, how do I update this as I've deleted T4 and put back in and still getting cpp overpayment.
I think there may be a difference with TurboTax this year.
I have never previously entered Box 26 before, usually leaving it 0.00. I think TurboTax now needs that amount to calculate the CPP remittance properly. In previous years I believe this wasn't the case.
In many cases Box 26 and Box 14 are the same. I entered the same amount in each and the overpayment issue is resolved.
It would be good to get more confirmation from TurboTax about this situation.
@Optisoft1 You are right! The amount of pensionable earnings - box 26 - is required.
If box 26 on your T4 has zero ($0) in it, you don't have to do any changes, just enter zero ($0) as required. If box 26 is blank, enter the amount from your box 14 (up to a max of $73,200).
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
