How can I get the DEPENDENT SENIOR box to be checked on Schedule J (Quebec form). I ticked dependent Senior on the worksheet but nothing happens.

If an amount is entered on line 2 of Schedule J, it is expected that you will not see the Dependent box checked on line 4. Also, you can refer to this page for the eligibility of the tax credit:
