I believe if you enter it on turbotax it should be accepted just like we enter the T4 on turbotax and don’t submit the actual form. That’s my understanding at least.
Whe you enter a T4 the associated data becomes part of your final return. Think what the person asking is should you see the data related to the t1198 on it and the problem is on mine it wasn't which means cra doesn't kno× how.to divvy up the retro pay.
If someone knows otherwise please let us know.
The person I talked to at turbotax couldn't find it
Yes, I don’t see the data for the T1198 after printing the return.
So there’s still an issue…
If you entered the information directly on Form T1198 then it will be printed when print your complete return. When you Efile your return, CRA will receive the complete return including Form T1198 as well and will review it. They will make a comparison to determine if it's better for you to allocate the retroactive income to past years or to keep all of it in the year 2024. CRA will acknowledge what they determined in their comments on the Notice of Assessment.
I did but.it isn't seen in the pdf
.support team told.me I would have to mail it in after reviewing the pdf sent to cra..So.you think they still get it though not part of pdf..I hope so!
@tonyriccio this is confirmed? Because the person seems to say the contrary. Anyone else who’s filed and filled out the T1198 form can confirm it’s included as part of the efile?
Alternatively, is there a way to attach via the CRA website? I’ve heard some people doing this.
