I want to carry forward some unused tuition from previous years. To do this, do I enter the amount I want to use this year? Will the rest automatically carry forward?

You can't choose the amount of tuition to use. TurboTax will use what's needed to reduce your tax payable, and then any remainder will be carried forward.
