In home office form here there are three fields,GST, HST and exempt. My employer is a GST, HST registrant. How do I fill the form? put the bills sum in both fields ?

The amount of your internet plus the HST included on your bill will go in the HST column.

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

@iustin79 HST has GST built in, so if you paid HST on an expense, then you would enter it in the HST Taxable column.

The work from home expense form as an employee now says to input expenses incurred for the office space only. Does that mean I need to calculate the percentage of the expense based on the size of the office? Or does Turbotax still do the calculation for it?

Example: My rent for the year is 20,000 and my office is 10% of my entire apartment. Would I input the 20,000 or 2,000?

@lrparker There are two sections, Expenses which you incurred for the entire home & Expenses which you incurred for office space only (not for entire home).

If you enter something in the "Expenses which you incurred for the entire home", then the expense will be prorated based on the amount of your home that you use for your work. This would be where you would put your apartment rent.

If you put something in the "Expenses which you incurred for office space only (not for entire home)", then the whole expense will be deducted.
