Same commodity codes as last year but this year I get an error on REVIEW. I COPY the codes and the name from last year and PASTE but still no good. I want to Net file but can't with ERRORS. Others must have the same issue. What is up?
I saw a post to sign in as ADMINISTRATOR but still no good.
So also here. Even the published codes from Sask Crop Insurance are not acceptable. This is completely inhibiting netfiling using TurboTax of 3 farm returns. For 2021 when efiling with Cantax, the set of codes was accepted, but efile was cutoff by CRA due to small volume. Have not yet found how to file AgExpert-generated T1163's as replacement forms (or any other supplementary forms, for that matter) with Turbotax.
Not pleased with this software or Netfile. There is no observable systems requirement to have different and possibly inconsistent electronic filing methods. Carry-foreward from Cantax to Turbotax is not available.
Update to above:
Oddly enough, download of fresh copy of TurboTax and re-install without de-install, then running as administrator allowed Netfile to process this one return.
Specific example: code 316 was not accepted during Netfile before the re-install, while official Saskatchewan code of 8574 [Purebred Horses, Breeding, Mares was not enterable before and accepted after, but programatically changed back on entry in the Netfile error diagnosis screen to code 316.
Note that this was only attempted on a hunch after 37 years (so far) in Systems, without significant expectation of success. Some attempts may require unspecified secret incantations.

Support issues from above:
1. The Turbotax update process has a non-trivial problem. Inconsistencies in software installation and update processes are not acceptable in any production system, regardless of development or production environment. Testing of installed updates is required before release of updates to production installations. Complete replacement of installed software and reference tables is likely more reliable than current process.
2. There may have been recent and untested updates in the CRA netfile process. For instance, data reference tables on CRA systems may have been changed independent of any TurboTax testing. CRA may not support testing by software vendors of CRA changes isolated from production user Netfiling.
3. Acceptance of T1163 commodity codes must match tables published by SCIC/Agristability, AgCanada and so forth. Editing to these published tables must also be at point of entry rather than only at Netfile time. Agristability is enough of a data, system and procedure mess without additional confusion created by commodity code mismatches.
4. Restriction of commodity codes to 3 digits on entry prior to re-install is likely an old issue that was resolved by re-installation and somewhat mysterious.
5. Programmatic change of entered commodity codes at Netfile time is a dubious practice.
6. Inconsistencies between Netfile and Efile processes within CRA processes are likely and untestable by end users, forced by CRA Efile restriction. There is no obvious system reason for two processes, causing significant system support costs, time and opportunity for error. This applies to both CRA systems and software systems such as TurboTax (Netfile only) and Cantax (Efile only).
Should this issue be escalatable to TurboTax support, email [email address removed] for further discussion. This issue may be forwarded to Cantax support.
