Hi. I have used Turbotax for a number of years for both my myself and my wife's returns. For my return filing, I am required to use the Premier option as I have a T3 to report, which is fine. However, with my wife who has no income to report I am required to upgrade her return to Premier as well -- and she doesn't have a T3 to report. This is the 2nd year that this has happened and I personally think this is bull**bleep**. The return required for filing should be at level of the individual, and not the 'family'. You should consider changing this practice as it may result in my using a different product in future.
Pricing is per return. But if you prepare your return together with your spouse/common-law partner, then you will both be using the same version of the software, and so will both be charged the same price.
If you want to use a different version of TurboTax then your spouse/partner, then you can do so by preparing your returns separately.
