Hello
I'm having trouble reporting a net capital loss from 2022 on my 2023 return.
I am using the Net Capital Loss Worksheet, but the amount of the loss (from our Notice of Assessment) is not being automatically reported on line 25300, as it is supposed to.
Can someone give me advice? This would be most appreciated!
Tony
Are you using TurboTax CD/Download or TurboTax Online? Do you have capital gains in 2023?
I'm using TurboTax Online.
I figured out how to do it- I needed to indicate in the worksheet how much of the loss I was claiming for 2023.
It's fine now.
Thanks!
I am having the same issue using desktop
Entered how much net capital loss from prior years to be claimed in 2023 on the loss worksheet but it is not showing on line 25300
I do have capital gain to report in 2023 on principle residence sale, it was not the principle residence for the entire time it was owned.
@lslichter Have you also made sure to enter the amount of loss that you are claiming for the year?
yes I have, but line 25300 is zero, and capital gain linec12700 is much larger than the loss claimed
Please contact our phone support team at 1-888-829-8608 as they will be better able to assist you.
Yes I figured out that this was what I needed to do. Then it worked fine.
Thanks for your help!
Great to hear - have a great day!
Could you please tell me what you did to get it show up on line 25300. I am having the same problem
