Trouble installing Turbotax on new computer

I got a new computer and I am trying to install previous version on it. I have the disks from 2009 to 2023 and when I load them it does not ask for a licence code and then it wants to do an update and then it says it will update hard drive then it vanishes. on the 2024 copy it is only a download version and when I try to find it it comes up with 2025 version. I am running Windows11.

The versions we have to download on our website are the most up-to-date versions, with all the updates applied. If you need information from an older return and don't have the PDF archives saved for your records, you can get info through the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)'s My Account service or call them at 1-800-959-8281 to request the info.

Updated after initial posting:

--> I spoke with my husband and he had previously created an Intuit account and did the installation. I was able to use his account to get the licence entered for the 2024 version. 

Problem solved. No reply required.

I'm having the same problem. Thank you for the links. I've installed 2024 on my new computer. When I enter the 2024 licence code, I get a message that the code is associated with a different account. 

How do I get the 2024 TurboTax application and licence code to work on my new computer?

Sequence of events:

Old computer - installed and used 2024 TurboTax in April 2025

New computer:

• installed 2025 TurboTax in Jan 2026. 
• TurboTax requested to sign in. I didn't recall having to sign in in previous years. I tried my email address and my phone number and received a message that no user profile existed. So, I created a new account.
• installed 2024 TurboTax:
  • prompted to log in --> Used newly created account
  • prompted for license --> entered the same 2024 licence code as was used on old computer.
  • received message that the licence code was associated with a different account

@TG1267 Installing TurboTax Desktop requires a TurboTax/Intuit account for tax years 2023 and later.  

For tax years 2024 and later, when you reinstall TurboTax, simply sign into the same account you used when you first installed the program, and you'll be able to select your license code there. 

The new account you created does not contain TY 2024 information. You must be in the same account that you used to install TurboTax 2024 last year.

Try this link and click "Forgot Password"; it will give you various options for retrieving your linked accounts.
