In calculating Michigan tax, turbotax on line deluxe incorrectly allows income subtraction for interest, capital gains and dividends for a person born in 1946. Under Michigan law, this subtraction is only allowed for person born prior to 1946 unless taxpayer has income from SSA exempt employment. This issue (error) should be corrected. Turbo tax agents (I have talked to 5) do not seem interested or have the power to fix this. Michigan should suspend acceptance of turbotax efile until this is corrected.
