Your return is done, but filing for returns with capital gains or losses is temporarily delayed

Your return is done, but filing for returns with capital gains or losses is temporarily delayed

The CRA needs more time to certify the capital gains forms due to the delay of the rate increase. We expect they’ll be ready to accept your return by late March.

When the filing date is announced, we'll notify you at the email address you use for TurboTax so you can sign in and file.

Can anyone explain this in more depth? I have a net loss on investments (T5), but besides that, I do not understand why this error is preventing me from filling? Is everyone that files personal taxes early subject to this freeze?

Please verify that none of the forms you are using are locked: TurboTax FAQ: Why does TurboTax say my forms are locked or haven't been finalized?

If you are not using any locked forms, we suggest you to contact our Product support team. They have access to tools we don't have here in Community, like screenshare to investigate this issue for you.

  Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

I'm being prevented by filling too except that I have nothing to file about capital gains and losses. I called support but couldn't find the solution. We checked the list of forms that I was about to Netfile and none of those were on the list of blocked forms, but still saying that I have to wait. Other tax software companies said that anyone filling that had nothing to do with the blocked forms should be okay to file, but not with TurboTax unfortunately.

I have contacted support last night and couldn't find the proper solution. So I was told to wait until CRA unlocked those forms that I don't even use. Does it mean I can only file by late March? I hope you guys find a solution because I shouldn't be affected by this problem.

I have simple T5 no gains or losses and still locked!  @turbotax, still can't file.

@ApplesID If you are not suing any locked forms, are you getting any Netfile while trying to File?

@TurboTaxAniqua I was stuck at the point of selecting either to file by Netfile or Print to file by mail. I can't press either one. At that concern, I called product support. Unfortunately, the agent who was trying to help me could not solve it and told me to wait. He assumed the issue was with CRA due to Netfile. But I haven't gotten to Netfile yet.

@Corbor You can see a list of Forms that still locked here: Why does TurboTax say my forms are locked or haven't been finalized? We're working hard to finalize these forms to align ourselves with CRA requirements, and we hope to have them ready soon. We appreciate your patience.

@ApplesID Are you in Quebec? Do you have a T5? Are you using TurboTax Desktop or TurboTax Online?
