Troubleshooting
Really trying to be patient with this obvious flaw in the software, but at this point its become ridiculous. The head of our union has suggested they put an email out to all staff warning staff of this glitch and to use alternative measures/products for doing their taxes. They have had dozens of people complain about this, and we are not even in April yet. How much more time is needed before an update to fix this? Some people also count on their tax returns to get by. And the extra time and frustration in constantly checking to see if its been fixed? Not fair at all.

@user17737611663 We suggest you contact our Product support team. They have access to tools we don't have here in the Community, like screenshare, and can investigate this issue for you. We have already reported it on our end.

I did already phone and was basically told to pay more through 'upgrading' my subscription. How is that fair? There is a glitch with the software and I dont think its fair for users to pay more for a problem that only exists with turbo tax. Far too long has passed since this was reported which does not bring much trust in the program or company. And for a tax software program to not be trusted or efficient, well, that does not bode well with consumers. Please fix this glitch. There has been no updates whatsoever for weeks, and I am sure this is not the only glitch that has been reported.

We suggest that you or your payroll department contact the CRA at 1-800-959-8281 and ask them how to report this correctly. They may need to amend your T4s or ask you to paper file your return.

Since it seems TurbTax is the only software that has this issue, why aren't you just fixing it??

Troubleshooting
As per the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA):
Do not report any amount using box 16A if your employee has not reached the first maximum earnings ceiling, use box 16.
Do not report any amount using box 16A if your employee does not have already have their maximum CPP contribution reported in box 16.
So you can either ask for an amended T4 from your employer, or as per our FAQ: If you have at T4 where Box 16A has an amount, Box 16 is empty, and box 26 is empty (no “0”) or has an amount, then remove the amount that’s in box 16A and enter that amount in box 16 instead.

This is ridiculous.....I have the SAME issue. Same employer, retired part way through the year and maxed out my CPP. I was then rehired on a project for December and now have a second T4, but no amt in box 16 as it is already maxed with that employer.
Turbotax wants us to lie to the government agency that manages our documents? Are you kidding me???
This is pathetic that it has been a month and it is still not fixed.
I wonder if the police/RCMP would consider that fraud that TurboTax is telling us to do that.
What did the users in this chat end up doing? I am down to the wire here as I cannot get this sorted out and don't know how to file.

Troubleshooting
Just merge the numbers and enter it as one T4 in TurnoTax.
The "output" that gets netfiled the the CRA is the same either way.
Still BS the TurboTax won't fix the issue.

@Jester9661 If you have 2 T4s from different provinces, you will need to keep them separated. If you have a T4 with box 16A and not box 16, you would enter the amount from box 16A in box 16 and remove it from box 16A.
